Igbomina Descendant Association UK (IDA UK) was created over 30 years ago. Our main mission is to promote charitable activities for the benefit of the community by providing support in relevant areas such as education, youth services, health and wellbeing. We also work to facilitate economic, political, cultural developments and social interaction among Igbomina descendants living in the UK and all over the world.
IDA UK is one of the most active community group in the UK.
The theme of the event is “Educational Development in Igbomina land; emphasis on Information Technology”. We expect that on this day we will learn more about how education has evolved in Igbomina Land and discuss more about the developmental plans and how IDA has contributed towards this. We also aim to raise funds to continue to enhance our developmental plans in our communities. We will also showcase our culture, such as our “Oriki”, local hairstyles and food. IDA UK Youths Wing will also take part in the activities of the day through some selected speeches around the use of technology (Social Media) and its impacts on educational development.
By organizing this event, IDA UK is looking to provide a platform to further enhance our aims and objectives, sensitize our members and especially the younger ones on our culture and people back home and more importantly, get our youths involved in our various activities and thereby linking them up with their root.
Further information and details about our aspirations and activities can be found on our websites at www.igbomina.org. We look forward to welcoming you to our celebrations.
